For 2027, we’re bringing everyone together on one 55 km route, returning to the beautiful Midlands roads we enjoyed in 2025.
Expect a varied mix of gravel roads, farm roads and tar, with rolling countryside, rewarding climbs and flowing descents. The route takes in Fort Nottingham and the surrounding farmland, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the autumn scenery along the way.
It’s a proper Midlands ride, with some climbing to earn those views and plenty of character from start to finish. Settle into your own rhythm, ride with friends and enjoy the journey.
For those who enjoy a challenge, there will also be a Strava King of the Mountain (KOM) segment and prizes.

Download the route file in Global Positioning System (GPS) Exchange Format (GPX), then load it onto your cycling device or navigation app before the event.
The route may be adjusted if weather, road conditions or damage to farm roads and surrounding areas require changes. Any updates will be shared before the event.
Gravel Giro celebrates a shared love of cycling, and you don’t need a vintage bike to join us.
Modern road bikes, E-bikes, gravel bikes and mountain bikes are warmly welcomed, alongside the classic steel bicycles that remain such a special part of the event.
Bring the bike you love, enjoy the ride and stay for the classic bicycle display and weekend festivities.
Our famous food and refreshment stops are part of the experience. Lovingly hosted by our friendly volunteers, they offer a chance to refuel, regroup and share a few laughs before heading out again.
You’re very welcome to join us just for the 55 km ride on Saturday 15 May 2027. You don’t need to stay for the full weekend to take part.
If you can make a weekend of it, though, we’d love you to! The evening braais, classic bicycle display, sundowners and Sunday social ride offer more time to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Set on a picturesque farm on Fort Nottingham Road, Bellwood Cottages brings together country accommodation, tranquil dam views and a welcoming setting for our Gravel Giro weekend.
The Boma will be our gathering place for the social evenings, with the main ride starting and finishing at Bellwood.
With activities running from Friday evening through to Sunday, make a weekend of it and stay for the full experience. Bellwood offers self-catering cottages, making it a convenient base for riders, partners and friends.
