Gravel Giro is a tribute to the roots of riding, to dust, simplicity, and the joy of the journey. It’s about pushing through the first hill with a smile, and soaking in the beauty of the ride, the land, and the people around you.
Whether you’re pedalling a classic steel machine or something sleek and modern, you’ll be part of a growing community that values grit, generosity, and good times in the saddle.
Step back in time and relive the golden era of cycling. Everything runs from Bellwood Cottages.
The big ride happens once, on Saturday. Saturday Riders are welcome.
Friday and Saturday evenings are a bring and braai social. We supply the charcoal, you bring your own meat, salads, refreshments and cutlery.
Sunday morning is a family social ride around Nottingham Road before we say goodbye.
Arrive at Bellwood Cottages and settle in if you are staying over. Route briefing, collect rider packs at registration, then a bring and braai social in the evening.
One loop out from Bellwood Cottages and back over gravel and farm roads, with some tar. Classic bike display, King of the Mountain (KOM) segment, and a bring and braai social again that evening.
A gentle morning ride around Nottingham Road with the family and friends, then time to say goodbye to new and old friends before heading home.
One route for everyone, exploring the beautiful Midlands countryside. Expect mostly gravel and farm tracks with some tar, rolling hills, rewarding climbs and plenty of reasons to take in the views.
Chasing a challenge? There’s a Strava King of the Mountain segment with prizes. Rather enjoy a leisurely ride with friends? There’s room for that.
From curated ride packs to our legendary feed stops, we craft a day that’s as memorable for the atmosphere as it is for the effort.
ACCOMMODATION NOT INCLUDED. BOOK BELLWOOD COTTAGES SEPARATELY.
BRAAI CHARCOAL SUPPLIED. BRING YOUR OWN MEAT, SALADS, REFRESHMENTS AND CUTLERY.
You don’t need a vintage bike to enjoy the Gravel Giro. Modern road, gravel, mountain bikes and e-bikes are warmly welcomed. Wool or lycra, all are welcome, as long as you ride with heart.
Our vintage roots remain close to our hearts. Bring your treasured classic and be part of the tradition. Our classic bicycle display celebrates the craftsmanship, character and stories behind these much-loved bikes.
And you can count on our famous food and refreshment stops, lovingly hosted by our committee ladies, with plenty of laughter and the friendly atmosphere that keeps riders coming back.

This year we’re heading back to Bellwood Cottages in Nottingham Road, your base for the weekend, and where the ride starts and finishes. Cottages are booked separately from your event entry, so sort your bed as soon as you know you’re coming.
