By entering and participating in Gravel Giro, you acknowledge, understand and agree to the following:
Gravel Giro is a recreational cycling event and not a race. Participation is entirely voluntary and at your own risk.
The event may include registration activities, riding on public and private roads, gravel roads, farm roads, double track sections, tar sections, feed stops, event facilities, displays, prizegiving, and all related event venues and activities.
You confirm that you are medically fit, physically able and sufficiently prepared to participate in the event.
You further confirm that you are not aware of any medical or other condition that would make your participation unsafe for yourself or others.
You understand and accept that cycling events involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
You accept full responsibility for all risks, injuries, loss, damage or expense arising from your participation.
You understand that route conditions may vary and that routes may be changed, shortened, diverted or cancelled at any time due to weather, farm conditions, road damage, safety concerns, access restrictions, or any other circumstances considered relevant by the organiser.
You agree to ride responsibly and within your own limits.
You will obey all applicable laws, as well as the instructions of event officials, marshals, landowners and organisers.
You will show due care and respect to fellow riders, spectators, animals, vehicles and property.
You confirm that your bicycle and equipment are in a safe and suitable condition for the event, and that you take full responsibility for ensuring they are properly maintained and fit for use.
You hereby indemnify and hold harmless Gravel Giro, its organisers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, landowners, partners, service providers, representatives, and any persons associated with the event, from any claim, liability, loss, damage, injury, death, cost or expense arising from or connected with your participation in the event, however caused, except where such loss or damage arises from gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
In the event of illness, injury or emergency, you authorise the organiser to arrange medical treatment or assistance as may reasonably be considered necessary.
Any related costs remain your own responsibility.
You consent to the taking of photographs, video, audio and other media content during the event, and to Gravel Giro using such content for marketing, promotional, social media, website, editorial and related purposes, without compensation.
You understand that the organiser reserves the right to alter, postpone or cancel any aspect of the event if necessary for safety, weather, logistics, access, force majeure, or other reasons beyond reasonable control.
By entering Gravel Giro, you confirm that you have read and understood this Event Indemnity and Consent, and that you agree to be bound by it.
